Coconut chutney is generally made from fresh coconut. As fresh coconut is not always present in my homes, so I mostly ,make coconut chutney with desiccated coconut. For a bit sourness, I use curd. I add roasted grams or chana dal to add body to the chutney. It is then seasoned with mustard, dry red chili and curry leaves.
Coconut chutney is a South Indian side served with idli, dosa, uttapam, upma etc. I’m in so much love with this chutney that I can eat bowl full of chutney without any other thing. Whenever we go out to eat dosa, I take many servings of this chutney as I can’t stop myself from eating it.
