Fat Free Chocolate Cake / How to make fatfree, eggfree chocolate cake

Whenever we eat a cake, one thing surely comes to mind is the amount of calories associated with that slice of cake. What about if the same slice of cake is fat free…. I’m not kidding. That’s true, we can make fat free eggless cake without any compromise on the taste. Even the chocolate ganache, I have made, is without any cream or butter. Don’t believe me….. Make it and amuse yourself and the family. This cake is guaranteed to leave you swooning and asking for more.

Instructions
For Chocolate Cake
  1. In a bowl take all purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and baking powder. Keep aside.

  2. Whisk to mix everything well

  3. In another bowl, take milk at room temperature. Add vanilla and sugar to it. Whisk well to dissolve sugar.

  4. Add dry ingredients to the milk and mix gently.
  5. Grease the cake pan.
  6. Add vinegar to the cake mix just before pouring in the baking pan and mix gently. Pour in the greased pan

  7. Bake at 180 C for 35-40 minutes till the toothpick inserted comes out clean.

  8. Let the cake cool in pan for 10 minutes.
  9. Transfer it to wire rack to cool completely.
For Ganache
  1. Heat 50 ml of milk to boiling hot. Remove from heat.
  2. Add grated chocolate and vanilla to milk. Whisk to get a smooth chocolate ganache.
  3. Let it cool to spreadable thick consistency.
To assemble
  1. Heat water and dissolve sugar in water to make sugar syrup. Keep aside to cool to room temperature.
  2. When the cake gets cooled completely, cut it horizontally in two halves.
  3. Wet the cake generously with sugar syrup.
  4. Apply ganache on one layer. Sprinkle tutti frutti over it.
  5. Cover with the other half of the cake.
  6. Wet this half also with sugar syrup. Let it absorb syrup.
  7. Apply ganache all over the cake and smoothen it.
  8. Generously sprinkle slivered almonds and pistachio over the cake.
