Gnocchi – An Indo-Italian Fasting Recipe

Gnocchi – An Indo-Italian Fasting Recipe

Navratri is a nine day long festival in which most of people do fasting for all days except the last day, when Kanya Puja is done. Some people do Kanya Pujan on Durga ashtami or Maha Navami

In my family, we do Kanya Pujan on Durga ashtami. Though I keep fast on all the seven days (this time my daughter accompanied me) but my family keeps fast only on Saptami i.e. On 7th day of Navratri.

When kids are keeping fast, the food has to be special. My foodie son was tired of eating sattvic food for all these days. So to make him happy, I made this Italian dish that I just happened to see on this website while browsing through the net. I tweaked the recipe to adjust to my tastes.

When I told my son that I have made Italian food for him. His reaction was… You must be joking mom… Italian? That too during fasting, no way. On having a plate of gnocchi in front of him he was like ???

Now, don’t wait…  amuse everyone in the family with this tangy n saucy gnocchi.
