Jeera aloo is One of the easiest and simplest recipe that gets readied in minutes. This is nothing but potatoes tempered with lots of cumin and then spiced with some simple everyday spices like coriander powder, chilli powder, mango powder etc
For making jeera aloo, we can take raw potatoes as well as boiled potatoes. If using raw potato, potato is sauteed in oil till it gets cooked. If using boiled potatoes, then cooking time is reduced. In that case we need to take care that potatoes are cooled completely before sauteing in oil. This will help to maintain the shape potato cubes, otherwise they become mushy.
Jeera aloo can be served as a side with pooris, paratha or with plain rice. Since it has no onion garlic, it can be consumed during fasting as well.
