During normal school days, my daughter has to take food according to food schedule. So during weekends, she want something special. As poori is everybody’s favorite at home, so my Sunday brunch usually consists of poori with chana or aloo ki sabzi.
I make pooris in different forms like plain poori, masala poori, stuffed poori, bhatura etc. While I was about to knead the dough of poori, I remembered that some leftover dal from the dinner was lying in the fridge. I wanted to use that dal so thought of making dal wali poori. Then it struck to my mind why not to try something different. So instead of making pooris with just wheat flour, I used whatever type of flours were present in my kitchen.
When the whole family sat for brunch, all were happy to see the spread as everybody’s favorite one thing or other was there. Still I had the doubt about kids liking multigrain moong dal pooris, so I made both plain whole wheat flour pooris as well as multigrain moong dal pooris. To my surprize, everybody preferred multi grain dal pooris to plain poori. So it is going to be regular in my home as it is not only more crisp but healthier too.
