Mushroom Chili Stir Fry

Mushroom Chili Stir Fry is an Indo Chinese dish that is loved by all mushroom lovers. I have bunch of mushroom haters in my family. But this mushroom chili stir fry is so delectable that a staunch mushroom hater like my husband can eat a bowl full of mushroom chili.

Generally batter coated mushrooms are deep fried to make this Indo Chinese delicacy, but to keep a check on calories, I shallow fried these mushrooms and used just 3 tbsp of oil to make it. Believe me, nobody could make our any difference. So, if we can achieve the same result by reducing the quantity of oil, why not to make our delicious mushroom chili stir fry with this method only.

Mushroom Chili stir fry
Instructions
  1. Rinse mushrooms and cut them into quarters or halves depending upon size of mushroom.
  2. Sprinkle 1 tbsp corn flour and ½ tsp salt over the mushrooms and mix them gently to coat all the mushrooms with flour. Keep aside for 30 minutes.
  3. Heat about 3 tbsp of oil in a non stick pan. Shallow fry mushroom. Drain on a paper towel.
  4. In the remaining oil, add minced garlic and cubed onion. Stir fry them for a couple of minutes.
  5. Add cubed bell pepper, stir fry for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Add mushrooms, chili sauce, soy sauce, tomato sauce, red chili powder and salt.
  7. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes over high heat.
  8. Serve hot!
