If watching movie is entertaining to the mind, equally entertaining to your taste buds are the snacks that we munch on while viewing our favourite movie.

Whether you watch movie in a cinema hall or in your living room, one thing is common…. That is snacks.

Though I love to watch movies in cinema hall but there, the choice of food is limited as you don’t want to spend a painful amount of cash for those boring, tasteless snacks that they offer.

In cinema hall, my choice of snack is popcorns and cold drink, while my daughter wants nachos or chips and my son likes burger (I’m amazed how can he eat that boring tasteless burger there, while at home he become a big critic 😏) My husband wants nothing (because those useless snacks are boring a hole in his pocket😂😉). So, when we plan to watch a movie or a cricket match together, I make it a point to make some quick snacks that all of us love and have some filling also so that I need not to make lunch/dinner afterwards.

This week, in blogging marathon, I opted to participate with theme ‘Movie Time Munchies’ that I’m hosting as well as Kid’s Delight Event. For the first day, I made Zero Oil Masala peanuts and my today’s post i.e. for 2nd day is Oil Free Chana Tikka Burger that I made using air fryer. If you don’t have air fryer, you can make it in oven or roast tikkas on non stick tawa. But if you don’t mind calories, can fry it in the oil as well. By the time, I decide my recipe for the third day of blogging marathon you make and enjoy my oil free chana tikka with your favorite movie

Instructions
For Chana Tikka
  1. Wash and soak chana dal for 2-3 hours.
  2. Boil chana dal in a pressure cooker for 2 -3 whistles.
  3. Grate boiled potatoes. Add cooled and lightly mashed chana dal to it.
  4. Add all the spices, coriander leaves, lemon juice and ½ cup of bread crumbs. Mix well and check the seasoning. If required, adjust to your taste.
  5. Divide into 10 portions and shape into tikis. Roll them in bread crumbs and keep aside.
  6. Preheat your air fryer for 2-3 minutes at 200°C.
  7. Place tikis into air fryer basket and fry for 5 minutes. Apply some oil on the tikis with a brush and again fry them for 5-6 minutes.

For Burger assemby
  1. Lightly toast the burger buns on a tawa.
  2. Apply the desired sauce, place veggies followed by chana tikki, jalapenos and olives. Pour some more sauces and enjoy your burger.

  1. Oil free and burgers!! Wow! It is really worth trying. Though I don’t have air fried, I can try this in a regular way.
    I know how kids are so funny and different at different places. Waiting for the government to allow outside food in the Cineplex.

  2. wow I love this chana tikka recipe. These days I have started making street food at home. Planning to buy this air fryer. Really a great way of saving oil and cook with less or no oil.
