Paneer popcorns are one of my kids favorite food  snack. In fact paneer in any form is kid’s favorite but these popcorns with mild spices make kids go gaga over them. Whenever I make paneer popcorns, I make some changes to that, sometimes in coating or in spices. This time rather than making deep fried popcorns, I air fried them. They tasted as good as the fried ones. Though kids couldn’t make out much of the difference, I had this feeling that with air frying, the juiciness of paneer reduces. Still I would love to make it again with air frying as it is a healthier option to deep fried ones. May be next time I’ll reduce the time of air frying to 5 minutes only.

  1. Cut paneer into cubes. Sprinkle ¼ tsp each of salt, red chilli powder and chat masala. Mix to coat all paneer pieces.
  2. Keep them aside for 10 minutes to absorb flavours.
  3. Crush corn flakes and keep aside
  4. Take maida, corn flour, all the spices and salt in a mixing bowl. Add water to form a batter.
  5. Dip paneer pieces in batter and coat them with crushed corn flakes. Press with hand so that corn flakes stick to the paneer pieces. Keep them in refrigerator for 10 minutes.
  6. Preheat air fryer for 3-4 minutes at 200°C.
  7. Put half of the paneer nuggets in the fryer and fry for 5 minutes. Take out the fryer. Brush some oil on the nuggets and again air fry for 3 minutes.
