A bite into this chocolate loaded Triple Chocolate Spiced Cookie…Mmmm…chocolatey, chocolatey and then capsaicin pings your palate…Omg! What a contrast in the flavors!
Yes these are the cookies which are loaded with chocolate and while you are enjoying that chocolatey taste you feel a little heat of the chillies…. Whoa! Take another bite, another and another…I bet you won’t be able to restrain yourself.

I first saw these cookies in a book from ‘Taste of Home’ and instantly decided to make them. The original recipe is with eggs and Chipotle Chile is used. So I changed the recipe to make it eggless. Instead of using Chipotle, I used red chili powder that we commonly use in our Indian kitchens. These cookies which are crispy from outside and chewy from inside were well received by my daughter. Though I was a bit apprehensive that she won’t like that little burn which comes at the end. But to my surprise she loved it. Next time I would like to increase the heat.

So if you aren’t afraid of the heat and want to be more experimental, feel free to increase the amount of chillies. If like me you want to be on the safer side, then stick to the recipe and enjoy that chocolate taste followed by desirable mild burning sensation. Dunk it in some milk if you want to mellow down that heat 🙂

Cookies looks simply out of the world, and how sinful they looks. I couldnt stop myself drooling over those dark beauties.
I have heard that chilly and chocolate goes well together but never tried it myself. These cookies look amazing and that little spice would add a nice contrast to the sweetness of the cookies.
The chilly with chocolate is a new combo and I have noticed it in hot cocoa and ice creams , but have never tried . Must be quite exciting ! The cookies look wonderful and glad you dared the combo .

I make fudge with paprika and the combination tastes great. Use of chili powder is interesting. Cookies have turned out nice.
I have a couple of Taste of Home books and I love them! They have such homely recipes, but can’t make them all the time, since most of them are loaded with calories! Hehe… but they make such nice flippy books when you need a booster… Mexican style cookies for sure, I love my hot chocolate with a kick of spice, so I am sure I would love these cookies too… Great to know that your LO loved it!
